Tesoro Water Polo Season

After the first week of Steven's Junior year, Steven was chosen to be Captain of the Tesoro Water Polo Team.  The team worked hard all season and made it to the first round of CIF.  As parents we were thrilled!

A couple of memorable games were with Trabuco Hills High School.  The first game with Trabuco, we went into double over time with finishing in sudden death.  Steven made the winning goal.  It was incredibly exciting!  The last game of the season was Trabuco again but at their pool.  This was a very important game because they had to win to go to CIF.  To our amazement the same thing happened, the game went into overtime with a sudden death.  Steven once again, scored the winning goal.  The team, coach, parents and Steven were ecstatic.

At the water polo banquet to celebrate the season, Coach Gibson paid Steven an incredible compliment.  He said, "Steven has shown great leadership.  When the team would get down, he would literally put them on his back and carry them until they were ready to play."  We were so proud of Steven for his ability to put the players first.  Steven was given the Most Valuable Player Award.
